Description

Canon 24-105L, 55mm, 1/2 sec, f/16, ISO 100, -2 EV (-1 EV + (-)1 EV bracketing), Flash did not fire, used mirror lockup, timer.

I was heading out to try to capture a silhouette of the moon, when I saw a fantastic sunset and changed my plans. I raced up a dirt road near my house to find a suitable subject, and came upon this tree. I quickly set up, set the timer, set exposure bracketing, and took several sets of images, adjusting exposure compensation and bracketing based on results. The first couple had better color in the clouds, but required significant exposure adjustment on the computer. This image represented what I captured in the field.

Exif: F Number: 16, Exposure Bias Value: -2.00, ExposureTime: 1/2 seconds, Flash: did not fire, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 100, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 55.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 40D
